Check-in

Unlike the outbound leg from Seattle, I was able to check in for this flight 24 hours before the flight departed. I forgot to set the alarm about this, and I checked in 23 hours 45 minutes before the flight, but since I have registered all my information, I only needed to verify and add my phone number, and select whatever seat I wanted. This allowed me to select whichever window seat was left on my Haneda-bound flight, and select one of the only 2 remaining window seats left on my Seattle-bound flight. The next day, I simply woke up as usual, took the MRT subway from my hotel in Bugis, and, upon exiting the MRT station, I proceeded to ANA's check-in counters at row 8. The process was fully self-service and automated; having checked in for my flight the day before, I arrived 2.5 hours before my flight. All I needed to do was reprint my boarding pass, print my bag tag, which was easily done, and drop my bag tag. I could have done the whole process on my own and was intending to do so since I am familiar with the system, but not even 2 steps into the process, the Changi ground staff immediately jumped to my assistance, helping me tag my bags and complete the rest of my check-in process. They verified my documents, and once they saw me eligible, they sent me to the bag drop machine, where another staff member came to my assistance when I could have done the whole process on my own. The proactiveness of the ground staff members continued in the boarding gate, where everybody was dealt with and welcomed in a cheerful manner, and it was continued by the Haneda ground staff upon arrival. I gave the whole ground staff team a score of 40/40.
