LONE STAR
FLIGHT REVIEWS
(formerly Boria Travels)

Are your videos HD?
The answer is YES. I have chosen the best equipment (according to me) to make my videos HD-presentable. Starting in 2020, I've upgraded my video quality to 4K 30fps; in 2023, I've upgraded my video quality to 4K 60fps.
What software do you use for editing?
Visit our "Equipment and Video Types" page.
Am I allowed to use your video?
If it's for your private use (meaning that you won't share it anywhere else) then you are fine to use it.
However, if you want to share it or re-edit it, ask me or visit the Copyright Policy page.
What else do you post other than Flight Reports?
I post not just aircraft trip reports, but also quick reviews, as well as planespotting, and some off-topic videos.
I used to create train trip reports as well, but as of 2018, my train trip report videos have been removed from my channel permanently.

Am I free to comment on YouTube and Instagram?
As long as you did not violate our comment policies, you are allowed and free to comment. Basically, you're free to comment, but you also need to be responsible for everything you've written.
What's the point of taking pictures with the crews?
Taking pictures with the crews is the way I regard and respect their job, by showing the world that "we have great people, here!"
I put the picture with the crews on YouTube and Instagram with this understanding:
**The pictures with the cabin crews are just for memories and have no (and will never show) abusive and dangerous contents, and I, the copyright owner, will NEVER disclose one of the crew's secrets and privacy matters.
Why do you use subtitles instead of narration?
The answer is simply for your maximum experience so you can feel how it feels to be onboard. Also, doing it with narration/voice-over means more money, more gear, and more time, which means it's less efficient.
How do you usually take pictures with the crews?
I always check the aircraft's turnaround time prior to making such requests, and whether they are busy and not comfortable with such requests. Then, I would usually convey my request to the cabin crew. From there, we get our pictures taken, and I will usually upload them under the "shared copyright" system, where only me, the crews, and the airline can repost, while others are not allowed. This is done to ensure the privacy of me and the crews.

Where are you from and where were you born?
I am currently based in the Dallas Fort Worth area, Texas, United States. I am not providing the exact location, birthplace, and citizenship due to privacy reasons.
Are my videos sponsored?
NO. All of my reviews are made with honesty and are straightforward from my experience. My flights were NEVER SPONSORED or paid for by the airline, and they remain unsponsored until now.
What kind of audio does your video support?
From an old speaker to speakers equipped with Dolby Atmos, I have set the audio of my videos to be compatible with all kinds of devices.
Do you monetize your videos?
Lone Star Flight Reviews is a non-profit YouTube channel. It means I do not monetize all of my videos. If advertisements are present, they are controlled by YouTube and do not go into my wallet.

How can you record inside the plane while there is a regulation that all electronic devices should be switched off during taxi, takeoff, and landing?
My camera is not equipped with built-in Wi-Fi and my batteries are not explosive. Thus it does not interfere with the aircraft's navigation system and the aircraft's safety unless the aircraft is refueling.
Why do you upload videos in certain months only?
Since I'm still a college student, studying is still my main purpose. Therefore the frequency of my videos will correspond to the number of trips I could make. If there's no more, I stop.
Why didn't you share your cockpit visit pictures, if you did it?
Depending on the airline and the country's policy, taking pictures in the cockpit and sharing them with the public would potentially cause the cockpit crew to be questioned, or worse, be fired, which of course is not good for me and the cockpit crews. Also, cockpit pictures can be used by someone else to tamper with or hijack the plane. That is why I always keep those to myself unless permitted.

Do you also provide feedback elsewhere?
Starting FRITS #34, I also post my review on Skytrax, and this act has been made standard from FRITS #38. Starting FRITS #38, too, I always provide direct feedback to the airline through their supported channels, and this has been made standard since FRITS #50.
Have you asked permission from the airline/crew before filming?
Yes, I always attempt to notify and ask permission from either the airline through email/social media and/or the cabin crews before filming onboard. This has become standard starting from videos made in 2022 onwards. Some videos made before that (mostly those made in late 2018 onwards) were made with prior communication with the airline and/or the cabin crews as well. That being said, this does NOT impact my judgment, and no special treatment was received by me because of this. Generally, I will still try my best to exclude and censor other passengers despite prior communication and permission.
Why do you mention crew names on your video?
My general rule is that I only include the names of the crew as a symbol of gratitude for a nice flight, and even so, I will not include their full, legal name due to privacy reasons; I will only use their nickname or pseudonym. However, you can request names to be excluded through this form.
